Ricky Whittle who plays Hollyoaks supremo hunk Calvin Valentine, has admitted to being jealous of character Ravi Roy’s recent storyline.
Ravi Roy, played by Stephen Uppal, took part in illegal street fights despite having a brain aneurism.
Ricky said “I was very jealous of Stephen’s storyline. He’s done amazingly well. I used to box when I was younger as he did and the whole drama with the brain aneurism is a beautiful storyline.”
He went on to say “I want Stephen to be up for best actor next year. I can’t praise the rest of the cast enough but he definitely deserves to be up there for what he’s done. I’ve been lucky to film a lot of scenes with him and he proper throws himself into it.
“He puts hands down his throat, holding his breath, tenses up to get into really dark place. It comes across as amazing on-screen.”
Yes, you did read that correctly! Stephen puts his hand down his throat? We find that revelation very bizarre… not exactly sending the right message eh Ricky?
