Kevin Sacre has announced that he is enjoying his ’second stint’ on Hollyoaks much more than the first time round.

The Hollyoaks actor who plays Jake Dean said in an interview that on first joining the cast it was a big shock and change to his lifestyle.

“I’m enjoying it more this time than before – it’s very easy when you first start for your whole world to become Hollyoaks because you’re away from what you know.”

Kevin, who previously dated co-stars Ali Bastian and Claire Cooper, said: “You live, breathe and go out with all the cast members, so you’re constantly with work people. Being back, my social life is very separate from my work life and I think that’s always conducive to a happy Kevin.”

Jake returns to Hollyoaks as a reformed character after being put in a mental institution following an attempted rape and suicide.

Kevin insisted that he always planned to return to the Channel 4 show when he left as he “felt the story was a bit unfinished.”

He added: “The reason I left the first time was because I just wanted to go home for a bit and catch up with friends and re-establish my life down south. I’ve done that with a vengeance. I came back engaged and planning a wedding and all sorts.”
