Sonny playing for 'Oaks Utd
CHANNEL 4 have announced that the hunks from Hollyoaks have recorded a charity single for the 2010 World Cup.
The lads who already take part in their own annual ‘celebrity footie league’ decided that as well as kicking the ball about, they could also raise money by singing about it! And we think it’s a ruddy good idea!
Normally we might cringe at the idea of some jumped up celebs recording a single for charity (just because they can!) But let’s face it, the ‘Oaks actors are probably not that bad at singing! So we’re hoping this is going to be chart topping material.
The single is due to be released on May 23 and will be called ‘Sing for England’.
All proceeds are being donated to the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, which treats over 200,000 children and young people each year.
Speaking of the plan, team captain Pickard commented: “All the lads in the team are passionate about football and we love playing regularly to raise money for charity, so it only seems natural to show our support for the England football team in South Africa by releasing ‘Sing For England’.”

I wish we didn’t have to wait until May for it :-/
